Control of legionella pn.

Successful treatment of the cooling circuits of a vacuum system in a paper mill, in accordance with the 42nd BImSchV (ordinance on the Implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act).

The cooling circuits of a vacuum system are one of the biggest challenges of a paper machine in terms of legionella control. Water separators usually leak and generate a continuous source of contamination of the cooling circuits by addition of white water (including the undesirable microbiological fauna, fibers, fillers, etc.).

Servophil successfully treats the cooling circuits with a combination of a neutral dispersing cleaner (our proven S-CONTRA-XZ) and our ready-to-use chlorine dioxide S-CARE-OB1413.

In a successfully implemented treatment concept, sludge, biofilms and the bacterial population in the cooling circuit were reduced to the prescribed level according to the 42nd BImSchV, below test value 1, after a short time. This combined treatment shows a sustainable good effect.
