Combating acidification
The use of our biological S-BACPRO cleaning solutions offers an innovative and sustainable alternative for controlling acidification. Through intensive deep cleaning of water circuits and the biological degradation of existing organic waste products, including organic acids, their concentration is significantly reduced. This leads to long-term pH stabilization while simultaneously lowering the calcium load in the process water.
In one paper mill operating with recycled fiber and a highly closed water circuit, the challenge was considerable. Nevertheless, by implementing S-BACPRO, we succeeded in reducing organic acid levels by 40% and stabilizing the pH value.
Biological treatment with S-BACPRO functional bacteria not only enhances the cleanliness and operational reliability of the paper machine but also effectively protects the connected wastewater treatment plant from calcium scale formation. In addition, the use of oxidative chemicals can be significantly reduced, minimizing both operating costs and corrosion risks.
By specifically harnessing and replicating natural biological processes, a more stable and sustainable water circuit is created—combining environmental benefits with high process reliability and long-term operational efficiency.
